(April, Before School)

Students get to bring a special adult to school for breakfast before the school day begins.  Volunteers are needed to set up, serve food, and clean up.  You can volunteer for one or both mornings.

Volunteers may be needed to help transport donated items and/or coordinate service projects with student and parent participation throughout the school year. 

Volunteers are needed to assist with projects that go along with the Dens / 7 Habits of Happy Kids lessons, throughout the school year.  These projects may involve cutting, copying, organizing, or putting together materials for projects.  Volunteers may help during the day or evening, at home or at school.

November

This is a 4th grade activity-based workshop, but you do not need to be a 4th grade parent to volunteer.  The emphasis is to help students become more aware of the needs of disabled people.  Many volunteers are needed throughout the day. This is a one day commitment and we are still looking for a volunteer to Chair this committee.

May

At least 50 adult volunteers are needed the night of this event to help with a variety of activities, including serving food and drinks, assisting with face painting and/or crazy hair for students, and helping to run the cake walk.  Volunteers sign up for a 30-minute shift at one of the stations.

September

This is our PRIMARY fundraiser that covers budgeting for our PTO activities. Volunteers will be needed to help set up and take down flags and track markers on the field before and after the event. The event happens during the school day (approx 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.).  We will need volunteers to help hand out participatory prizes and popsicles. We also need volunteers to come and cheer on the kids while they run!

Volunteers are needed to assist with a variety of activities in the month of March. A variety of opportunities are available at school and at home. 

January 

Anyone who attends this event gets to experience food, music, clothing, and other forms of culture from a multitude of countries.  We need as many countries represented as possible, to match the global diversity we are fortunate to have at Novi Woods.  Volunteers are needed to take the lead on setting up stations for a country and to work at these stations during the event.

May

Volunteers may be needed to help with setup and cleanup, and prepare/pickup food items for the Novi Woods staff.  Help is needed on any and all days during that week, mostly during school hours.

Fall

We are looking for volunteers to assist in compiling information on students according to their teacher. This is joined with all classes to complete a comprehensive student directory. 

Volunteers are needed to help serve at the ice cream party, held one evening in August, Date TBD.

October, Evening

Volunteers will be decorating their trunks for an evening of Halloween fun in the school parking lot.  We also need a few volunteers to help with set-up and clean-up.

October, morning

Volunteers are needed to distribute water to participants, welcome community guests, and help with various activities leading up to the event.

Volunteers are needed to assist with projects that go along with the “Woods You Rather” throughout the school year.  These projects may involve cutting, copying, organizing, or putting together materials for projects.  Volunteers may help during the day or evening, at home or at school.

Volunteers are needed to help collect photos from classroom events for the school yearbook.

You can also sign up to be an on-call volunteer for either events that happen during the school day and/or events that happen before or after school. Just email the PTO to be added.
